Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck on Wednesday while addressing students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. FBI agents in Salt Lake City shared images of a slim-built man dressed in all black, wearing a snapback, sunglasses, and a long-sleeved shirt with a U.S. flag logo.

Investigators recovered a bolt-action rifle nearby, wrapped in a towel, with spent and unspent rounds inside. Some bullets bore engravings referencing transgender and antifascist ideology, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA and an ally of President Donald Trump, is survived by his wife and two young children.

Investigators discovered a bolt-action .30 caliber hunting rifle in a wooded area near the campus, wrapped in a towel. According to The Wall Street Journal, bullets found in the weapon were engraved with “transgender and antifascist ideology.” Officials have not confirmed this detail.
Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA and an ally of Donald Trump, leaves behind his wife, Erika, and two young children.
Trump paid tribute in a national address, calling Kirk “a patriot who devoted his life to the cause of open debate” and “a martyr for truth and freedom.” He added: “Charlie was also a man of deep, deep faith, and we take comfort that he is now with God in Heaven.”
The gunman remains at large as the FBI analyzes evidence, including the recovered rifle and possible rooftop surveillance footage.
