The Commission requires Air Peace to appear before the Commission at its Abuja Headquarters on Monday, June 23, 2025.

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has summoned Air Peace over allegations of failing to refund customers after cancelling flights. According to a statement released Monday, the Commission noted that such actions violate Sections 130(1)(a), 130(1)(b), and 130(2)(b) of the FCCPA 2018, which guarantee timely refunds when service providers fail to fulfill advance bookings.

“This provision enshrines the principle of fair dealing and safeguards consumers against unfair, unjust, or unreasonable practices by service-providers,” the Commission stated.

In a formal summons dated June 13, 2025, Air Peace is required to appear before the Commission’s Abuja office on June 23, 2025, under Sections 32 and 33 of the Act.

“Specifically, Section 33(3) of the FCCPA mandates compliance and failure attracts severe sanctions including fines or imprisonment.”

The airline must present refund complaint logs, processed refund records, a list of cancelled flights over the past year, and mitigation steps taken.
