A customer entered our branch, went straight to the toilet, climbed inside the ceiling. They noticed someone was on top of the ceiling
A man posing as a bank customer in an FCMB branch in Imo State allegedly hid in a bank’s toilet overnight. According to reports, he scaled into the ceiling and remained hidden during business hours. After the branch closed, the suspect reportedly descended and attempted to breach the bank’s internal systems. Bank staff later discovered unusual activity when a computer terminal displayed a message reading “restarting, click OK to accept.”
Security personnel found him tampering with equipment and he was subsequently detained by police. Video footage showed the suspect being removed from the premises amid a commotion, while eyewitness accounts described a chaotic scene. An anonymous security source stated, “A customer entered our branch, went straight to the toilet … climbed inside the ceiling. They noticed someone was on top of the ceiling.”
Police have launched a formal investigation, questioning the adequacy of security measures and the handling of the arrest. Authorities promise a comprehensive review of bank security protocols.
