A civic group has dragged the police to court, seeking prosecution of FCTA Director Nwankwoeze Williamson Chijioke over alleged forgery of an OND certificate disowned by Kwara State Polytechnic.

A senior official in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mr. Nwankwoeze Williamson Chijioke, has been accused of forging his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) certificate allegedly issued by Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. According to SaharaReporters, the document was confirmed fake by the institution in a letter dated March 12, 2025, signed by Deputy Registrar Ibrahim Eletu Saka. The civic group, Dependable Patriots for Nation Building and Transformation Initiative (DPNBTI), subsequently petitioned the Inspector-General of Police and other authorities, alleging Chijioke used the falsified certificate to gain admission, employment, and promotion.

Despite official petitions, no action was reportedly taken, prompting the group to file a motion at the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking an order compelling police investigation and prosecution. The suit — FHC/ABJ/CS/2050/2025 — demands accountability for forgery and perjury, offences carrying up to 14 years’ imprisonment. The case underscores persistent credential fraud in Nigeria’s civil service system.
