The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a Group Life Assurance Scheme for federal workers, paramilitary personnel, and top government officials for the 2025/2026 policy year.
Didi Walson-Jack, Head of Service of the Federation, announced the decision after Monday’s FEC meeting. She said the scheme provides life cover for public servants, with benefits going to their next-of-kin in the event of death.
“This scheme underscores the importance that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has placed on the welfare of the federal workers,” she said.
Beneficiaries include the president, vice-president, ministers, paramilitary agencies, and civil servants. The policy, set to begin upon premium payment, will run for 12 months. Seventeen underwriters were appointed for its execution.
