Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has rejected the expulsion of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike from the PDP, calling instead for peace and reconciliation.

According to a report from PM NEWS NIGERIA, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has publicly rejected the expulsion of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The decision to expel Wike and eight others was announced at the party’s national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, but Fintiri distanced himself from the action hours later in a post shared on his social media platforms.

Fintiri said his refusal to support the expulsion stemmed from his commitment to peace and reconciliation within the party, warning that the move “is not in the best interest of the party” and could worsen ongoing crises. He added that he would not be party to any decision that could “lead to its disintegration,” stressing that unity remained his priority.

The governor, who is a known associate of Wike, reiterated his commitment to working for stability in the PDP. He urged stakeholders to “work towards healing the divisions within the party.”

Aside Wike, those expelled include Ayodele Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Austin Iwachukwu, Umar Bature, Muhammad AbduRahman, Mao Ohuabunwa, Abraham Ama, George Turner, and Dan Obi. The motion for their removal was moved by Chief Bode George over alleged anti-party activities and unanimously adopted at the convention.
