Trump’s tense meeting with Zelenskyy reportedly ended in a shouting match as he urged Ukraine to halt the war and concede territory to Russia.
A tense meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reportedly ended in a “shouting match” as both leaders clashed over terms for ending the ongoing war in Ukraine.
According to The Financial Times, Trump was “cursing all the time” during the heated White House session, where he urged both sides to “stop where they are” and end the conflict. He allegedly pressed Zelenskyy to surrender the Donbas region, warning that Russia would “destroy” Ukraine if no deal was reached.
A European official at the meeting quoted Trump as saying, “If [Putin] wants it, he will destroy you.” The U.S. president also expressed hesitation about selling Kyiv Tomahawk missiles, despite earlier pledges.
After the meeting, Trump wrote online, “Enough blood has been shed… They should stop where they are. Let both claim victory.”
