Abuja, Nigeria – Retired Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Mohammed Uwais, has died at the age of 89.
The news of his passing was confirmed by the Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, who stated that the former CJN died in the early hours of Friday.
Justice Uwais served as Nigeria’s Chief Justice from 1995 until his retirement in 2006, presiding over the judiciary during a pivotal period in the nation’s legal history.
