Three ex-FBI officials allege they were unlawfully fired for investigating President Trump and are suing top officials, including FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Three former FBI officials filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday alleging they were wrongfully terminated for investigating President Donald Trump.
The suit, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, names FBI Director Kash Patel, Attorney General Pam Bondi, the FBI, the Justice Department, the Executive Office of the President, and the federal government as defendants.
Former Acting Director Brian Driscoll Jr., ex-Assistant Director Steven Jensen, and former special agent Spencer Evans argue they were dismissed on Aug. 8 through a one-page letter that violated federal law and the Constitution.
The plaintiffs, with a combined six decades of FBI service, said their careers included preventing terror attacks and rescuing hostages. They accuse Patel of admitting his superiors directed him to fire anyone linked to Trump investigations.
“Patel not only acted unlawfully but deliberately chose to prioritize politicizing the FBI over protecting the American people,” the lawsuit states.
The Justice Department has not commented.
