“I feel that no age is too late to achieve your academic dreams, whether you are young or old. If I can do it, you can also do it,” she said.

Former First Lady Patience Jonathan has urged Nigerian women and youths to pursue their academic dreams regardless of age.

She made this call at the 43rd postgraduate convocation of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, where she was awarded a PhD in Psychology, Guidance and Counselling.

“I feel that no age is too late to achieve your academic dreams, whether you are young or old. If I can do it, you can also do it,” she said. “Even in retirement, you are not too old to go back to school.”

Mrs Jonathan dedicated the honour to Nigerian women and vowed to intensify her advocacy for vulnerable groups, especially women, children, and the youth.

She expressed gratitude to God, her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and her children for their support. “He saw me through the programme so I am very happy today,” she said. “I appreciate all my friends for their encouragement. I feel very happy today.”
