Former Florida nurse Alexis Von Yates was sentenced to two years in prison for lewd and lascivious battery on her 15-year-old stepson after a plea deal reduced her original charge.

Alexis Von Yates, a 35-year-old former nurse, was sentenced to two years in state prison on Tuesday for engaging in sexual activity with her 15-year-old stepson. The sentencing by Florida Fifth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Timothy McCourt included two years of community control, 10 years of probation as a registered sex offender, 200 hours of community service, and fines. Von Yates, who appeared in court wearing a black turtleneck, pleaded no contest to lewd and lascivious battery on a child aged 12 to 16 on August 21, a lesser charge than the original sexual battery by a person in familial authority.
The incident occurred on July 26, 2024, when Von Yates’ husband, Frank, caught her with his son during a late-night horror movie in their Ocala, Florida home. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Law & Crime, Von Yates claimed she was “horny” and told the teen to stop, but “the child victim told his father this was untrue, saying she was moaning him and told him to keep going.”
The victim’s mother, speaking at the sentencing, called Von Yates an “incestuous pedophile” and a “coward” with no remorse for her “dispicable actions.” She noted her son has not spoken to his father since the incident.
Von Yates, who lost her nursing license after her November arrest, was ordered to have no contact with the victim before being handcuffed and removed from the courtroom.
