Amanda Staveley is set to clarify she won’t bid for Tottenham despite speculation following Daniel Levy’s departure.
Former Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley is expected to confirm she has no plans to launch a formal bid for Tottenham Hotspur following Daniel Levy’s exit as chairman.
According to Sky News, PCP International Finance – a vehicle controlled by Staveley – will issue a statement on Monday clarifying its position. Staveley had reportedly spoken with potential backers in recent weeks over a possible move.
Spurs parted ways with Levy last week after nearly 25 years in charge. Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham is expected to assume a bigger role in the club’s leadership.
Staveley, 52, joined Newcastle’s board in 2021 but left in 2024 alongside her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi. The couple sold their stake to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and RB Sports & Media.
“My preference would have been to stay with Newcastle, but life doesn’t always work out exactly how you want it to,” she told The Athletic last year.
