French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has expressed shock after his daughter revealed she was sexually abused at a private school already under investigation for multiple misconduct claims.
The revelation came during a national conversation on child safety and abuse within educational institutions.
Attal said he was “stunned and deeply shaken” by his daughter’s account, which adds to the growing scrutiny facing the prestigious Stanislas Catholic school in Paris.
The school, which has ties to several French elites, has been the subject of recent investigations into allegations of abuse, bullying, and toxic culture.
Attal’s daughter disclosed her experience during a private family conversation, which the prime minister later shared publicly to highlight the importance of transparency and reform.
“What she told me shook me to the core,” Attal said.
Authorities are now under pressure to intensify probes into Stanislas and similar institutions.
