Another flood has hit Dugwaba District in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State following a heavy downpour, cutting off villages and submerging farmlands.
This latest incident comes just days after a similar flood in Yola claimed 29 lives, according to an update by the state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, on Tuesday.
Local sources described the rainfall in Dugwaba as “relentless,” leading to widespread destruction across the district and neighbouring areas, including Yadul.
Reports on Wednesday revealed that the flood severed major roads connecting Garaha, Mojili, and other communities, rendering them impassable.
“The situation is critical. We need urgent intervention to help our people who can no longer access their homes,” said the District Head of Dugwaba, Simon Buba Yakubu.
Though no casualties have been reported, the damage to infrastructure and farmlands has deepened concerns over the region’s vulnerability to climate-related disasters.
Authorities are yet to confirm any official response or relief measures for the affected communities.
