“There is no reason why there will not be peace between me and my Oga,” Fubara said, referring to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s decision to declare emergency rule in the state, describing the move as wise and timely.

Speaking Thursday in Port Harcourt at a meeting with stakeholders of the Simplified Movement, Fubara said the intervention helped avert widespread anarchy.

“We are already in the peace process. I want you to thank Mr. President for his timely intervention to salvage the situation… If not for Mr. President, the story today would have been different,” he said.

Fubara confirmed that both executive and legislative arms would soon be restored, assuring citizens of a return to governance and stability.

“There is no reason why there will not be peace between me and my Oga,” Fubara said, referring to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

He revealed that reconciliation efforts, including meetings with Wike, are underway. “We will reconcile,” he added.

Fubara appealed for unity, forgiveness, and patience from Rivers people, admitting some were disappointed by his crisis management but affirming his commitment to peace.

“I want to earn the respect of the people, not force it on them. I’m with you completely,” he concluded.
