Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara will address residents at 6 p.m., thanking supporters for their solidarity after the lifting of emergency rule.

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has scheduled a state broadcast for 6 p.m. today, shortly after returning to Port Harcourt following the lifting of the six-month emergency rule.

Fubara was warmly received at the Government House and expressed gratitude to residents for their show of solidarity. “I am humbled by what I saw at the airport. I was also briefed about what happened here yesterday. That reception really humbled me. It shows love, confidence, and solidarity. It is not just a celebration,” he said.

The governor described the large turnout as a reaffirmation of the bond between his administration and the people. “I want to assure you that we will continue to do those things that have made you people love us,” he added.

Fubara said his broadcast would acknowledge stakeholders who played crucial roles in restoring normalcy to the state, promising to properly recognize their contributions.
