Governor Siminalayi Fubara visited FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja to seek reconciliation, following a political crisis in Rivers State and a meeting with President Tinubu in London.
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara recently visited Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, at the latter’s Abuja residence in a bid to reconcile their political differences, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt.
The visit, facilitated by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and former governor Olusegun Osoba, took place days after Fubara met with President Bola Tinubu in London. That meeting followed the federal government’s declaration of emergency rule in Rivers and the suspension of Fubara and other officials.
“Fubara was brought to the minister’s house on Friday, 18 April. He prostrated for Wike while holding his legs and calling him, ‘My Oga’,” a source said.
Mr Wike’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, confirmed the visit but declined details. Fubara’s spokesperson refused comment.
The outcome remains unclear, but sources say Fubara was urged to brief his allies in Rivers on the truth behind the feud.
