GREEN ISLE, Minn. — Law enforcement apprehended suspected assassin Vance Boelter on Tuesday following an intense manhunt that ended with the fugitive surrendering in woods near his Green Isle residence, according to ABC News.

The breakthrough came when investigators, acting on a tip, located Boelter near a residential property. As officers closed in, the suspect fled into a wooded area, triggering a tense pursuit documented by CBS Minnesota reporter Liz Collin.

“At one point, Boelter was curled in the fetal position before resorting to an army crawl through the terrain,” Collin reported via social media. “He ultimately stood and surrendered when a surveillance drone pinpointed his location overhead.”

The arrest marks a critical development in a case that has gripped Minnesota since Boelter was identified as the prime suspect in a recent assassination attempt. Authorities have not yet disclosed potential motives or confirmed whether the target was a public figure.

Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Boelter is in custody but declined to elaborate on charges pending formal arraignment. Forensic teams remain at the scene collecting evidence from the wooded area where the fugitive was captured.
