FUTA produces 240 first-class graduates out of 2,747 students

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), will award degrees to 2,747 students during its 36th convocation, with 240 earning first-class honours.

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), will graduate 2,747 students at its 36th convocation, with 240 receiving first-class honours degrees. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adenike Oladiji announced this at a press briefing on Friday, noting that 1,479 students earned second class upper, 912 second class lower, and 116 third class degrees.

She said 867 postgraduate students will also be honoured, including 627 MTech, 86 PGD, and 154 PhD graduates. The overall best graduating student, Akindunbi Aduragbemi Isaac from Civil Engineering, achieved a 4.98 CGPA.

Oladiji attributed the results to discipline and the university’s commitment to academic excellence. She added that FUTA had launched new programmes in Fintech, Entrepreneurship Technology, and Procurement and Value Chain Technology.

The Vice-Chancellor said over 3,000 students benefited from the Federal Government’s loan scheme and urged more to apply. She reaffirmed FUTA’s mission to produce globally competitive graduates equipped for innovation and job creation.
