Gani Adams has warned of an imminent wave of coordinated terrorist attacks across multiple regions in Nigeria and called for possible U.S. military intervention.
Gani Adams, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, has warned of an imminent terrorist onslaught across the South-West, North-Central and South-South regions, raising concerns about rising insecurity under President Bola Tinubu. According to a report from SAHARA REPORTERS, Adams said armed militants are “waiting for the signal from their foreign sponsors” to launch coordinated attacks.
Addressing journalists at Oodua House in Ikeja, Lagos, Adams said the threat poses an existential danger to more than 60 million Yoruba people. He described the situation as perilous, stating that “merchants of death have surrounded” communities across Kogi, Kwara, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos and parts of Edo and Delta.
Adams expressed doubts over Nigeria’s capacity to tackle the threat alone, supporting foreign intervention. He welcomed the proposal by President Trump “to flush out these terrorists killing Christians and Muslims in Nigeria,” insisting that critics of the idea were misguided.
He cited past U.S. rescue operations and a recent British travel advisory as further indicators of Nigeria’s deteriorating security climate. Adams also referenced multiple attacks, including the killing of first-class monarchs and mass abductions in Kebbi and Kwara.
He urged immediate action, calling for a Southwest Security Summit and warning that terrorists are mobilising to invade towns and cities. “This monster must be fought by all,” he said.
