Gaza’s Health Ministry reports over 63,000 deaths and worsening famine as Israeli attacks continue.
The Palestinian Health Ministry on Wednesday said at least 63,746 people have been killed in Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023.
In a statement, the ministry disclosed that 113 bodies and 304 injured victims were brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of injuries to 161,245. “Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it said.
The ministry further reported that 33 Palestinians were killed and 141 injured by Israeli fire while attempting to access humanitarian aid, raising such deaths to 2,339 since May 27. Six more, including one child, died of malnutrition within 24 hours, bringing famine-related deaths to 367, among them 131 children.
Health officials say Israeli attacks since March have intensified, killing over 1,100 in Gaza City alone. Israel faces war crimes charges at the ICC and a genocide case at the ICJ.
