Geneith Pharmaceuticals has launched an online portal for secondary and tertiary students across Nigeria to participate in a national health competition aimed at combating malaria.
The portal was inaugurated Friday in Abuja as part of activities marking World Malaria Day on April 25.
The initiative, in partnership with CEOAfrica, has a budget exceeding N1bn—N400m for student prizes and N600m for educational materials and gifts across all 36 states and the FCT.
Geneith CEO, Mr. Emmanuel Umenwa, said, “Our target is also to reignite our passion for the battle against malaria…especially among our youth, who are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also the change-makers of today.”
Health Minister Prof. Muhammad Pate, represented by Dr. Godwin Ntadom, commended the effort.
The competition begins June 1, with a year-long cycle and a 14-member assessor panel.
