Germany confirms 714 neo-Nazis at large, including fugitives abroad, as Left Party warns authorities must act amid rising right-wing extremist crimes.

The German government has acknowledged that 714 neo-Nazis remain at large across the country despite active arrest warrants, according to press reports on Sunday. The figures were disclosed in the government’s response to a parliamentary inquiry submitted by the opposition Left Party, the editorial network RND reported.

The report noted that 115 wanted neo-Nazis are currently abroad, including 20 in Poland and 13 in Austria. Of those who have fled Germany, 39 are wanted for violent offenses.

Reacting to the data, Left Party domestic policy expert Clara Bunger said: “The number of outstanding arrest warrants against right-wing extremists has remained at an alarmingly high level for years. The authorities can no longer stand idly by; they must prioritize this problem.”

The statistics come as Germany recorded its highest level of right-wing extremist crime since tracking began in 2001. The Federal Criminal Police Office reported 42,788 right-wing offenses in 2024, nearly 50% more than the previous year
