A German national was stabbed and robbed in Abuja by motorcycle-riding hoodlums, sparking renewed warnings over rising insecurity.
A German national was stabbed and robbed on Saturday morning in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, in what security experts warn is part of a growing trend of violent street crimes.
According to a security report obtained by SaharaReporters, the incident occurred around 8am along IBB Way, near Maitama Primary School. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly walking when hoodlums on motorcycles attacked, stabbed him, and made away with his belongings before fleeing.
The report highlighted the increasing use of motorcycles for swift robbery operations, warning that both foreigners and locals are vulnerable. An advisory urged residents to avoid isolated areas, refrain from displaying valuables, and consider using secure transportation.
“Exercise extreme caution when walking in Abuja, especially in areas with low security presence,” the advisory cautioned.
