Her lawyer, David Markus, confirmed she was asked about “one hundred different people” and “didn’t hold anything back.”
Ghislaine Maxwell, in a recent nine-hour interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, reportedly made no statements harmful to former President Donald Trump, according to sources familiar with the exchange.
Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking and related crimes, told Blanche that Trump “had never done anything in her presence that would have caused concern.”
Her lawyer, David Markus, confirmed she was asked about “one hundred different people” and “didn’t hold anything back.”
The interview, which took place over two days last month, was requested by Maxwell herself. Sources say a transcript — and potentially an audio recording — could be released as early as this week.
Asked if he had approved her recent transfer to a lower-security prison, Trump said, “I didn’t know about it at all, no.” Regarding Blanche’s meetings with Maxwell, Trump stated: “Everything would be totally above board.”
He also told Newsmax: “I want to release everything. I just don’t want people to get hurt.”
Maxwell is currently appealing her conviction to the U.S. Supreme Court. Neither the DOJ nor the White House responded to requests for comment.
