This gesture is a testament to his deep commitment to their welfare and the broader well-being of Akwa Ibom residents
A total of 368 Personal Assistants (PAs) to Governor Umo Eno, each representing a ward in Akwa Ibom State, have endorsed his second-term bid after their monthly salaries were doubled from N250,000 to N500,000.
The announcement, made Thursday by Ekere Udoh, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, elicited jubilant reactions from the aides.
“The governor announced an increase in their monthly salary from N250,000 to N500,000, an announcement received with uncontrollable joy and a declaration of support for the governor beyond 2027,” Udoh stated.
Aniefiok James, Dean of the College of Ward PAs, hailed the gesture as proof of the governor’s dedication to their welfare and the state.
In a related move, Governor Eno relaunched the State’s Food Security Programme, promising free food distribution to the poorest residents. He urged the PAs to ensure transparency and diligence in the process to reach the intended beneficiaries.
