“I cannot find any explanation other than genocide sponsored by terrorists,” said Muftwang.

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, has described the recent spate of violence in Bokkos Local Government Area as “genocide sponsored by terrorists.” Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Muftwang alleged the attacks were deliberate and coordinated to wipe out entire communities.

“I cannot find any explanation other than genocide sponsored by terrorists,” he said, urging security agencies to expose the sponsors.

The violence, which began on March 28, escalated on April 2, affecting villages including Ruwi, Hurti, Tadai, Manguna, and Dafo. Local authorities confirmed the death toll has reached 52, with search teams still combing the area for missing persons.

Bokkos Cultural Development Council chairman, Farmasum Fuddang, accused suspected Fulani herders of the attacks, claiming over 50 villages have been targeted in six months.

President Tinubu condemned the killings, calling them “unacceptable,” and promised justice. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar blamed the federal government’s “failed security architecture.”
