Guinness World Records certifies Hilda Baci’s jollof rice record

Hilda Baci’s record-breaking jollof rice in Lagos fed over 20,000 people and earned Guinness World Records recognition.

Guinness World Records has officially recognized Hilda Baci’s feat for cooking the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 lb 9 oz).

The event, staged with Gino on September 12 at Victoria Island, Lagos, attracted a huge crowd and trended across social media. Guests included Ogun State First Lady Bamidele Abiodun and actress Funke Akindele, who commended Baci’s determination.

Guinness World Records confirmed: “New Record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”

Baci used 200 bags of rice totaling 4,000kg in a 22,619-liter capacity pot. The meal, filling 80% of the pot, was enough to feed more than 20,000 people.
