Bandits abducted Bobbo Paschal, a Catholic priest of St Stephen’s parish in Kushe Gugdu, Kaduna, killed a resident, and took several others, prompting the archdiocese to call for prayers for the victims’ safe release.
Gunmen attacked the Kushe Gugdu community in Kaduna’s Kagarko LGA on November 17, abducting Bobbo Paschal, a priest of St Stephen’s parish, and killing the brother of another priest, Anthony Yero. The Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna, through diocesan chancellor Christian Okewu, urged the public to join in prayers for the swift and safe release of all abducted residents.
Okewu offered condolences for the victim killed during the raid, while police have yet to release an official statement. The attack highlights ongoing insecurity in the region, affecting both clergy and local residents.
