Jordan Henderson is poised to join Brentford on a free transfer after leaving Ajax by mutual consent. The 35-year-old England midfielder has agreed a two-year deal running until 2027, marking his return to the Premier League.
Henderson prioritised a move back to England despite interest from other European clubs, with Brentford identifying him as their top target following captain Christian Norgaard’s switch to Arsenal.

Medical tests and paperwork are scheduled over the weekend, but an official announcement will wait until next week out of respect for the late Diogo Jota.
Henderson made 492 appearances for Liverpool from 2011 to 2023, captaining them to Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup titles.
He hopes to make England’s 2026 World Cup squad, having recently won his 84th cap.
Brentford, who finished 10th last season, face a major rebuild with coach Thomas Frank and key players departing.
