An analyst, Donald Okwuosa, argued that Nyesom Wike’s political influence, wealth, federal backing, and infrastructural performance could help President Tinubu secure victory in the FCT during the 2027 election.
A public affairs analyst, Donald Okwuosa, said the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, can deliver Abuja, the nation’s capital for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Okwuosa said Wike is a goal getter, who goes all the way to achieve his desires and goals.
During an exclusive chat with Legit.ng over the weekend, Okwuosa listed some advantages Wike stands to explore to secure the FCT for Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
How Wike can deliver Abuja for Tinubu in 2027
Political power: Wike is one man that would wield his political might and position in office to get his job done. Being the FCT Minister gives him easy access to conquer any opposition in the FCT.
Blackmail: Wike would resort to blackmail. Most politicians from the opposition parties own their choicest properties in the FCT. Wike would likely resort to blackmail of “if you don’t dance to my tune, I will confiscate or demolish your properties”. Definitely, no one would love to lose their choicest properties, they would gently make a bargain to allow Wike have his bidding.
Money: Wike is not just politically powerful, he is super wealthy. Don’t forget, the entire funds Nigeria generate as a country are disbursed in the FCT. Wike would therefore have too much money at his disposal.
The public administrator also mentioned the federal might and Wike’s performance in terms of infrastructural development as another reason Tinubu might win Abuja in 2027.
Might: The entire Federal, Military, Police, NSCDC, Civil Service, National University Commission, even the INEC have their HQTRS within the FCT. The Wike we all know will make the most of those advantages.
Wike did convincingly well in terms of infrastructure and development. In terms of security within the FCT, he scores well. He is a working Minister and that alone has endeared him to the hearts of Abuja residents. His goodwill and benevolence would definitely be considered. His good works in the FCT will advocate for him.
2027: Wike’s billboards compete with Tinubu
Recall that Wike’s billboards have been spotted in various parts of Abuja. Reports making the rounds disclosed that some politicians and local contractors seeking favour from Wike erected the billboards to showcase the minister’s projects in the nation’s capital.
While Wike is yet to speak on the development, reports further disclosed that the billboards are competing for attention with those of President Tinubu, who is seeking a second term in 2027.
Tinubu sends message to Wike
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that President Tinubu expressed deep condolences over the sudden death of federal capital territory’s first head of service, Grace Adayilo.
In a statement released by the state house, the Nigerian leader extended his sympathies to the minister of the federal capital territory (FCT). President Tinubu acknowledged the profound grief of the staff and management of the FCTA.
