Hulk Hogan’s passing raises questions of surgical error.

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan’s death may have been linked to medical malpractice, according to new claims included in a Clearwater Police report.

An occupational therapist who was with the 71-year-old when he died on July 24 alleged that a surgeon had “severed” Hogan’s phrenic nerve during a recent operation, TMZ Sports reported on Friday. The nerve controls the diaphragm, the muscle responsible for breathing. Police noted that Hogan did not clutch his chest before collapsing but simply stopped breathing, with his wife, Sky Daily, first noticing.

His daughter, Brooke Hogan, confirmed the allegations and has openly questioned the reported cause of death, which listed cardiac arrest and leukemia. “The leukemia out of nowhere hits me as BS,” she previously told Bubba the Love Sponge.

Clearwater Police said the investigation is ongoing and records, including bodycam footage, will not yet be released. “All of this takes time,” a spokesperson noted, adding that the family has been fully briefed.

Hogan, laid to rest on August 5, is survived by Daily and his two children, Brooke and Nick.
