Outrage erupted after Ronald Exantus — who killed 6-year-old Logan Tipton during a 2015 home invasion — was paroled after about eight years, prompting the slain child’s father to vow vengeance.

The father of 6-year-old Logan Tipton has vowed to kill the man who murdered his son after the attacker was released on parole following roughly eight years behind bars.

Ronald Exantus, 42, who stabbed members of the Tipton family during a December 7, 2015 home invasion, was paroled Oct. 1 after being sentenced to 20 years in 2018 on assault charges; a jury had found him not guilty of murder by reason of insanity. His parole is set to end June 18, 2026, the Kentucky Department of Corrections said.

Family members described the 2015 attack as brutal. Daughter Dakota told WLKY, “He stabbed me in the back. And then stomped on my head,” and added, “And I remember waking up across the room, not where I was at, and I looked and he was killing Logan and Logan was screaming.” Dean Tipton, who was also injured, told WKYT he told the court he would kill Exantus if they ever crossed paths: “I told the court — if I ever cross paths with him, I will kill the man. I will kill him where he stands.”

Logan’s mother, Heather Tipton, called the release “infuriating,” saying she cannot believe the man who killed her sleeping son is now free.

Local outlets report Exantus earned early release through good behaviour and credits while incarcerated.
