Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger filmed assaulting a crew member, has been charged and remanded in Lagos.
Comfort Emmanson, the passenger accused of assaulting a crew member on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, has been charged in court and remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Tunde Moshood, media aide to Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, confirmed the development on X, writing: “The unruly passenger on the Uyo–Lagos bound Ibom Air, Miss Comfort Emmanson, has been charged to court and she’s now cooling off in Kirikiri.”
Ibom Air said Emmanson refused to switch off her phone before take-off, verbally abused staff, and later slapped the purser upon arrival in Lagos. The airline alleged she also tried to seize a fire extinguisher “to damage and ground the aircraft.”
The incident comes amid growing concerns over disruptive passenger behaviour at Nigerian airports.
