ICE agents in Colorado violently detained a migrant father by smashing a car window despite a baby being inside, prompting widespread condemnation.

A viral video has sparked outrage after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were seen pointing guns and smashing the window of a family’s car in Alamosa, Colorado, despite a 1-month-old baby being inside.

The incident occurred last week as the family was returning from a routine immigration check at the Alamosa County courthouse. According to the mother, 21-year-old Maya England, three unmarked SUVs followed and boxed in their vehicle before armed agents emerged.

Footage shows officers shouting “Open the f—ing door!” as one agent repeatedly struck the window with a baton, shattering it despite England’s cries of “There’s a baby!”

The driver, Jose Aguilera, a Mexican national, exited the car and surrendered after agents claimed he had an immigration warrant. England says ICE has refused to show the warrant or disclose Aguilera’s whereabouts.

Colorado law prohibits courthouse-related immigration arrests. Civil rights groups have condemned the incident as excessive and unlawful.
