Tanko Al-Makura, former governor of Nasarawa State and APC chieftain, says he is ready to serve in any capacity deemed fit by President Bola Tinubu.
In an interview with Trust TV, Al-Makura responded to a question on whether he would accept the position of APC national chairman if offered. “If Mr President, as the leader of this country, tells me that ‘Al-Makura, I want you to come to my office and dust my table every Monday,’… I will come, dust the table, and go,” he said.
“I will be satisfied that I have done what the president wants. That is the level of my commitment and loyalty to a leader,” he added.
His comment comes amid speculation he may replace Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned in June. Al-Makura previously withdrew from the 2022 chairmanship race in support of a consensus candidate, and is seen as a stabilizing figure in the party.
