IMF says Nigeria will grow faster than the UK, US, and Germany in 2025 after revising its growth forecast to 3.4%.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that Nigeria’s economy will grow faster than the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, and Canada in 2025.

According to its July World Economic Outlook released Tuesday, Nigeria’s GDP growth forecast was revised upward from 3.0% to 3.4%, reflecting a 0.4 percentage point increase from April estimates.

This places Nigeria ahead of the UK (1.2%), US (1.9%), and Germany (0.1%).

The revision follows a GDP rebasing by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), which updated Nigeria’s GDP to ₦372.8 trillion ($243 billion).

IMF attributed global forecast gains to improved financial conditions, fiscal stimulus, and currency adjustments.

The report signals confidence in Nigeria’s macroeconomic reforms and resilience.
