INEC declares Soludo winner of Anambra governorship election

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been declared winner of the November 8, 2025 Anambra governorship election after sweeping all 21 local government areas.

According to PUNCH reporting, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, winner of the November 8, 2025 Anambra State governorship election.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, announced the result at the INEC headquarters in Awka, declaring Soludo winner with 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 99,445 votes. Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party came third with 37,753 votes.

Omoregie stated that Anambra had 2,788,864 registered voters, with 598,229 accredited, and 595,298 total votes cast, including 11,244 rejected ballots. He noted that while incidents in some wards led to the cancellation of 10,481 votes, the margin of victory was unaffected.

“I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, hereby declare that Chukwuma Soludo of APGA, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of valid votes, is returned elected,” he said.

Soludo won across all 21 local government areas, marking a sweeping victory for the ruling APGA.
