Efforts made by NGF Correspondents to speak on the issues discussed during the closed-door session proved abortive as the Chief of Defence Staff declined comment.

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) held a closed-door meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, Wednesday night in Abuja to address rising insecurity across the country. The session, chaired by NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, lasted approximately two hours.

The discussion focused on the surge in banditry and kidnappings, particularly in Benue and Plateau States, where hundreds of civilians, including women and children, have been killed.

Attempts by NGF correspondents to obtain post-meeting comments from General Musa were unsuccessful, as he declined to speak. Attendees included governors and deputy governors from several states.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Ahmed Dangiwa, was also scheduled to brief the governors.
