“We do not underestimate the loss of even one life. We do not take it lightly. But certainly, a lot has changed and improved,” he said. “We will not stop until we achieve results.”
President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday held a high-level security meeting with National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, and other security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The closed-door session, which lasted several hours, was convened amid rising violence in Plateau, Benue, and Borno States, where coordinated attacks by unidentified assailants have left dozens dead and entire communities displaced.
Speaking after the meeting, Ribadu said the President received a comprehensive update. “Even while he was out of the country, he remained in constant touch. He gave directives and followed developments closely,” he said. Ribadu added that service chiefs have been dispatched to affected regions, with a renewed focus on collaborating with local authorities to restore stability.
“We reported back to him, as he had instructed us to engage with political authorities in those areas,” Ribadu stated. “The President continues to emphasise this, and we are following through.”
