Intelligence isn’t defined by exams – Reno Omokri

Examinations may test memory, not intelligence, and can negatively impact your child’s mental health.

In many countries, examinations are just a test of memory, not intelligence. So, be mindful of that and the impact they have on your child’s mental health. Yes, get them tutors and lessons. But never mock them with words like Olodo. Such labels can stick in a person’s psyche forever and mess up their lives.

The sad thing is that the child may not even be academically dull. You would be surprised how well such kids can be when you take them to a different clime with another method for measuring intelligence.

And even if your child is an Olodo, and so what? This is the AI age. Children do not have to cram the answers to questions or know what two plus two adds up to. It is good if they do, but it is not vital. ChatGPT and other AI tools can help them.

More important than passing exams is that your children feel the unconditional love of their parents. As long as they have that, they will somehow find a way to succeed.

Children are different. Their gifts range and are as varied as the colours of a rainbow. Forcing them to be measured by only one standard of measurement is counterintuitive and counterproductive to their intellectual growth. Cooperate with the school system, but from time to time, try to also protect your children from these centres of conformity.
