The feud stems from a memo rejecting claims Epstein had a “client list” or was murdered—fueling backlash among Trump allies demanding more transparency.
CNN reports Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino is considering resigning following a heated dispute with Attorney General Pam Bondi over handling the Jeffrey Epstein memo, sources familiar with the matter say.
Tensions peaked during a Wednesday meeting at the White House involving Bongino, Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
Bongino was confronted about allegedly leaking claims that DOJ blocked further document releases.
Bongino denied leaking to NewsNation but declined to join a DOJ defense statement, a source said.
While speculation surged after Bongino missed work Friday, sources say he had not formally resigned by afternoon.
“The whole thing has been a complete mess and no one is happy,” a source told CNN.

Deputy AG Todd Blanche denied any split, saying such claims are “patently false.”
White House spokesman Harrison Fields insisted Trump’s team remained united:
“Any attempt to sow division… is baseless and distracts from the real progress being made.”
Bondi has faced criticism over releasing largely public documents at a February event with pro-Trump influencers, stoking frustration from Bongino and Patel.
