Ayomide Famakinde, 23, attacked the 19-year-old at Pier Approach on 16 August 2022 after approaching her late at night.
A Nigerian man who sexually assaulted a teenager near Bournemouth beach has avoided jail after a judge described the offence as a “momentary aberration.”
Ayomide Famakinde, 23, attacked the 19-year-old at Pier Approach on 16 August 2022 after approaching her late at night. Prosecutors said he put his hand down her jogging bottoms despite her “shouts” to stop, until a friend intervened. The victim, left “crying on the ground,” later told police he had “ruined her life” and she no longer felt safe walking alone.
Bournemouth Crown Court heard Famakinde, a gym instructor from Croydon, was intoxicated and had a “very troubled background” after arriving in Britain from Nigeria as a child.
Recorder Nicholas Haggan KC said he was satisfied the offence would not be repeated and imposed an 18-month community order with 150 hours’ unpaid work.
