Iran has lodged a formal complaint with the UN Security Council against International Atomic Energy Agency

Iran has lodged a formal complaint with the UN Security Council against International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Rafael Grossi, accusing him of partiality in the wake of Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

In a letter, Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir-Saeid Iravani said Grossi’s comments regarding the strikes represented “a clear and serious breach of the standard of impartiality” expected of his position. He also criticized Grossi for failing to “undertake appropriate preventive and deterrent measures” and for his “continued silence and inaction.”

The developments follow a major escalation that began on June 13, when U.S.-backed Israeli forces launched attacks on Iranian nuclear sites in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the strikes Sunday.

Tehran responded with missile attacks on Israel. Israeli officials reported 25 deaths and hundreds injured. Iran’s Health Ministry stated 430 Iranians were killed and over 3,500 wounded in Israeli airstrikes.
