Israel’s air defense systems intercepted a missile launched from Iran.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Sunday that a missile was launched from Iran toward Israeli territory.
“A short while ago, the IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat,” the IDF said.
Sirens sounded in several regions, prompting alerts from the Home Front Command. “Upon receiving an alert, the public is instructed to enter a protected space and remain there until further notice,” the IDF added.
According to Kann journalist Itay Blumenthal, only one missile was fired and it was intercepted. Magen David Adom reported no casualties, though several individuals sustained minor injuries while rushing to shelters.
The IDF later stated: “Following the situational assessment, the Home Front Command published that it is now permitted to leave protected spaces in several areas across the country.”
“The defense is not hermetic,” the IDF warned, urging the public to “continue following the instructions of the Home Front Command.”
