Iran says Israel spreading false claims to harm foreign ties

“This admission of a crime establishes the full responsibility of the US government,” Baghaei said.

According to Volant Media reporting, Iran’s foreign ministry has accused Israel of spreading false claims and fabricating assassination plots to damage Tehran’s international relations, following reports that Iranian agents allegedly planned to attack Israel’s ambassador in Mexico.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed the allegation as “so absurd and baseless that our embassy initially saw no need to respond,” adding that both Mexico’s foreign ministry and intelligence agencies confirmed no such case existed. “This is part of the Zionist regime’s ongoing effort to destroy Iran’s friendly relations with other states,” Baghaei said at a press briefing in Tehran.

He also revealed that Iran had submitted U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent remarks to the United Nations as evidence of Washington’s role in Israeli military actions against Iran. “This admission of a crime establishes the full responsibility of the US government,” he said.

Baghaei added that Iran is documenting what it calls U.S. and Israeli “military aggression” for future legal action. On Iran’s nuclear program, he said it was normal for the issue to feature in the IAEA’s next meeting, accusing NATO of hypocrisy for blaming Iran and Russia for breaking international rules.
