Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned the United States.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned the United States of “irreparable damage” should it engage militarily in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.
“Any American military entry will undoubtedly be met with irreparable damage,” Khamenei said, according to NBC News. “The Iranian people will firmly stand against an imposed war, just as they will stand firm against any imposed peace. This nation will never surrender to imposition from anyone.”
The warning comes after a wave of Israeli strikes on Iranian targets that began June 13. In response, former U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that America’s “patience is wearing thin” and called Khamenei “an easy target.”
“We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, emphasizing that the U.S. seeks “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
Trump’s administration is currently pursuing stalled negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program. The White House has yet to comment.
