Iran launched about 20 missiles into Israel, injuring 12, as Ayatollah Khamenei tweeted, “The Zionist enemy is receiving its punishment.”

Iran launched around 20 missiles at Israeli cities on Thursday, injuring at least 12 people in Haifa, as air raid sirens sounded nationwide.

The missile barrage began at 3:37 PM IDT, with confirmed strikes in Haifa, Be’er Sheva, and Gush Dan. Two victims in Haifa—a 16-year-old and a 54-year-old man—remain in serious condition from shrapnel wounds.

Amid the assault, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei tweeted in Arabic: “The Zionist enemy is receiving its retribution; it is now receiving its punishment.”

Israel’s defense systems, including the Iron Dome, intercepted several rockets. Some injuries were caused by falling debris from the interceptors.

By 4:05 PM, the Home Front Command issued partial all-clear notices but urged continued caution. Emergency services are actively evacuating and treating the wounded.

The missile strikes mark the latest escalation in the Iran-Israel conflict. Khamenei’s tweet drew swift backlash online, fueling international calls for de-escalation amid fears of broader regional conflict.
