Israel-Iran conflict: Khamenei vows defiance, warns U.S. against meddling

Any military intervention will undoubtedly result in irreparable damage

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued a defiant warning on the sixth day of the escalating Israel–Iran conflict, declaring: “This nation will never surrender to any imposition from anyone.” He firmly rejected a call by U.S. President Donald Trump for Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” describing it as “unacceptable” and warned that “any military intervention will undoubtedly result in irreparable damage.”

Khamenei criticized Israel’s air campaign, alleging that attacks were launched while Iran remained engaged in nuclear negotiations with the United States. Iran’s representatives at the United Nations echoed this stance, asserting: “Iran does not negotiate under duress.” Khamenei added that Iran would “respond to any threat with a counter-threat, and to any action with reciprocal measures.”

In response, Israel claimed responsibility for the destruction of Iran’s internal security headquarters in Tehran, as well as strikes on centrifuge-component facilities in Karaj. Amnesty International has appealed to both nations to protect civilians amid the growing conflict.
