Iranian state and semi-official media are reporting that at least four senior Iranian officials have been confirmed dead — including Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), widely considered the second most powerful figure in the country after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
Among the high-profile figures reportedly killed:
- Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)
- Fereydoon Abbasi, Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization
- Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya, one of the most powerful IRGC-affiliated military and engineering arms.
- Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, Senior Iranian Physicist
The assassinations were part of a broader Israeli offensive targeting Iran’s strategic leadership and infrastructure.
While Tehran has yet to officially confirm all the deaths, the consistency and urgency in Iranian media coverage indicate a major breach of Iran’s top security echelon.
